Our business is on a mission for the greater good, all because of a personal reckoning. After about 10 years in the plumbing and HVAC industry, it became clear that the practices and systems we sold to homeowners were not creating healthy homes. Everyday, I saw families getunwittingly exposed to toxins.
One day, I was ordered to increase profits by using cheap plastic water pipes that were new to the market
(with no data on safety) and required toxic glue to connect. I had enough. I didn’t want to work with the toxic glue because the fumes were overwhelming, and I certainly did not feel comfortable knowing that it could leach into our client's water. The family would have never known of the potential dangers seeping into their water if I hadn't said anything. That very day, I refused to proceed with the install, told the family of the plans, and quit my job. That's when the idea for Water Geeks, a
Green Plumbing and HVAC business, was born.
